How to Get Crisp, Hot & Healthy French Fries

Here is a little known food secret I have been using for years involving french-fry ordering at fast-food restaurants. We have all ordered fries only to have them arrive warn (rarely hot) and somewhat wilted and looking and tasting far from freshly cooked.

The secret is when you place your order always ask for unsalted fries. Since fast-food french-fries are prepared in large batches, are pre-salted and sit under a keep-warm lamp for sometimes a long time they will need to make your unsalted order fresh because they do not have already pre-cooked unsalted fries.

These are the benefits: Served hot, not warm or worse yet lukewarm. Freshly cooked and non-wilted. No salt added also means healthier eating (but if you like salt they have packages of salt you can add yourself). A reduced sodium diet is one of the health goals of our new health generation. Less time sitting around the restaurant kitchen also means less time for your food to possibly attract airborne bacteria and germs.

A minor negative to this fast food secret is you will need to wait a few extra minutes as your custom-ordered french fries are cooked. You can use that extra time to relax and help live a non-rushed lifestyle, which has other great health benefits and helps deal with stress.
