There is an old English saying – ‘There is nowt so queer as folk’ which roughly translated means that ‘There is nothing so strange as people’.

And it looks like that this may be the case in this situation. One just has to wonder how seemingly high powered executives could be so ill informed as to make such a mistake – if a mistake it was. Will we ever know?

Thanks for this posting for two reasons. First it helps save time and money by knowing what not to rely on for traffic scoring (Yahoo). But also you have stated what I have also thought, it doesn’t make sense for such wild fluctuations to take place. Obviously you don’t have to be a genius to see its not right.

I agree she does have a lot of visitors to her site. The website is very well done.

Erica is truly an inspiration to every woman out there. It just goes to show you that women can do very well as entrepreneurs and in business.

My goal is to be as successful as Erica although I am well past age 26!

David, an interesting subject. Although you state that it is not designed for business connections, this surely inevitably happens? For example, if a particular lodge had “brothers” in fields such as finance, law, law enforcement, etc, if one brother wanted legal advice, they would surely look to their circle of link minded colleagues before going anywhere else?

I saw a show on TV this year. I think it was on A&E about the Freemasons. There is only so much they can tell you on a show and it leaves you wanting to know more. Thanks Andy for the book recommendation I will definitely check it out.

Hi David – I found this interesting as I have found it very difficult to judge the market value of domains. Either putting a lot of effort into finding the right person to buy the domain, or sitting back hoping that someone will make an offer, rarely yields much – despite a domain with a high theoretical value based on keywords. I think that making a substantial amount this way is either a black art or pure good luck!

Perhaps this more about how the rich and powerful are totally arrogant to what goes on around them and expect different rules to apply to them as a result.

Or could be total ignorance of an employee who doesn’t know anything or very little about www.

Regardless, it makes for an interesting story and also makes you wonder how this type of management amassed such a franchise value.
