does the fact there may be NO visible anchor text detract or even eliminate the link value in the search engines and if the answer is yes, to what degree does it negate or dilute the value of the link

This is regarding anchor text in a link. Of course, website owners and html programmers realize the importance of having “anchor text” in a link which appears on the page before the closing tag but the issue is regarding the effect of “not” using any visible anchor text.

For example, on many blogs and websites there are often images which are clickable and go to a linked site since the clickable-link is in the code. However, the image is often there mostly for its graphical impact and also acts as a link when clicked. However, there is no indication to the site visitor to click-on the link and in fact the visitor may not realize they can click on the image to visit a linked website.

The question is does the fact there may be NO visible anchor text detract or even eliminate the link value in the search engines and if the answer is yes, to what degree does it negate or dilute the value of the link?

An example of this question is the picture of the anchor below. When clicked-on the link goes to the home-page of this website but what is the effect (if any) of there being no visible anchor text on the page?

Assuming a minisite page and ad content is targeted to the domain keywords I don’t believe a minisite will be an overall negative. With that said, a site will also likely not increase the domain value. However, a benefit to the minisite is your domain can slowly grow its traffic thanks to SEO work but a parked page will not.

As far as domain revenue goes, a parked page should perform better but that assumes the domain get the same traffic numbers and the parked page also gets organic and typein traffic. If not, site development is much better. As a side note, we have never had an end-use (a non-domainer) potential domain buyer ever ask about its website, revenue or traffic stats. Even if we offered to give that information the buyers did not want to look at it. It appears only domainers and resellers ask those kind of questions.

A major negative and significant issue with potential sales of developed websites (even a very small site i.e. 1 or 2 pages) is when a potential domain buyer goes to the URL and sees an active website he may assume since it is a site it’s likely not for sale (but it sometimes is for sale). Therefore, the possible buyer (end-users in particular) may think why bother inquiring, and quickly exit the web-page to go looking for a different domain, or try hand registering an alternative extension, or going with a slight name variation.

For those working on developing all their names thinking development will help sales, this may come as a surprise. Stephen Douglas earlier had said “Maybe, the “DOMAIN FOR SALE” link needs to be double-sized and bold!. Oh no, now you got me paranoid! Thanks a lot, David.”

However, there is still a problem Stephen because an obvious Domain Name For Sale announcement can make the visitor a bit uncomfortable seeing it and also may be an overall negative regarding potential PPC clicks too (and have an even greater impact on any product sales a site may be hoping to get).

Personally. I much prefer standard html sites vs WordPress sites. However, with that said, I must say a well designed WP site certainly can look great and be successful. Blogs and forums in particular do extremely well using WordPress where richness of features and live user interactivity are highly desired features, but with that said, I still like HTML vs Woprdpress by far for making “regular” (non-blog non-forum) new sites.

After working for years with regular html before using WordPress at first I found the WordPress learning curve to be huge and taking vast amounts of time. One of the toughest aspects was the look and feel of a WP site which is difficult to control and tricky to modify vs much easier to change html sites. Heavy spam or bot posts of WP sites are also a negative issue which is always looming but that is not a big problem involving standard html sites.

In addition, I do not think WordPress security is that good judging by some WP sites I know being hacked in the past. Speaking of security, the ongoing need to frequently update the version number is also an unwanted hassle, especially since the automatic upgrade capacity can and does sometimes fail.

In fact, you always need to worry your old WP version may not be fully compatible with the latest version and if not your site will go down when the upgrade fails and the old site will then stop functioning due to the upgrade failure. Been there and done that too. Even backups are a big hassle since there are extra steps involved to copy the data base but with standard html the database can be easily copied using simple FTP at the same time as regular htm files, with no other steps needed.

As far as search engine optimization is concerned I suspect WP and HTML are roughly equal in that regard. However, with that said, it’s much easier to do search engine verifications with html sites since it can be quite confusing trying to determine where the needed search engine verification codes are inserted into WordPress sites (because of the .php file names and confusing directory and folder structure, but with HTML and .htm files that’s all quite basic by comparison.

In my opinion, a big reason WordPress is so popular are the vast numbers of people who say they are WP programmers and designers (it must be easy to become one), or sell products that only work with WP, including many web-developer special offers and Clickbank products. Recently I decided to NOT buy several excellent sounding new developent site offers and programs since they were offered or designed only for WordPress and I was reluctant to add more WP sites no matter how good the offer sounds.

As a test, just ask a WordPress minisite developer, site designer or seller to help with some simple and basic modifications to your old html website and you will likely learn he/she can not do the job, no matter how basic it may be. Been there and done that. In fact, some of the things I wanted a bit of help or advice with from my WordPress developers or designers were real basic which I ended up doing myself, and I am far from being good with programming.

Bing captcha verification seems so difficult that it makes you wonder if perhaps Bing.com does not really want you to submit your website to their search engine!

If you own or run a website you realize the high value of getting your site listed well in the major search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo!

Often you simply wait for the search engine to find your site which they normally will do from following links and other ways to find and index your website. That passive approach usually will be adequate in most cases but it’s not assured and sometimes your site may not get indexed as fast as desired.

However, it’s not necessary to wait since you can be more aggressive by submitting your site directly to the search engines yourself by using their Add URL feature.

The becoming popular Bing.com search engine and others require the verification code be read and typed in. Bing in particular seems to make it unusually difficult to submit your URL since they use a verification code you need to type in, which is far from easy to read.

Those verification codes are also known as Captcha Images which can be read by a human but not by a computer or an automated system since the characters have misc fonts and text styles, and be displayed in various font sizes.

The Bing.com Captcha Image appears to be much harder to read compared to other sites which also require a verification code be entered. In fact, the Bing captcha verification seems so difficult that it makes you wonder if perhaps Bing.com does not really want you to submit your website to their search engine!

Take a look yourself. Try submitting any website URL to Bing.com. Click the 1-11-11 image below to access the Add URL to Bing link:

33rd degree masons

Been researching Freemasonry lately. One of the most interesting things about becoming a free mason is freemasons saying “a man should never enter freemason fraternity in anticipation of making business connections or for any other sort of professional or monetary gain. If he does, he will be badly disappointed. Instead, he will find a group of like-minded men, who are willing to treat him as a brother and share in a deep and rewarding fellowship with him.

He will find true friends and life-long companions. We expect men who petition for freemason membership to be good but not necessarily perfect men. We know all men have limitations and weaknesses. The freemason symbol pictured below is mysterious to the public as far as what it means and its origin.

Making money and businenss connection is definately not welcome by freemasons. Instead, they say a primary purpose of Freemasonry is the ongoing development of the Mason as an ethical, honest, moral, caring, sincere and charitable man, learning about his own potential as a human being and developing his intellectual and spiritual character.

We just finished a small website about the 33rd degree mason level which I believe is the highest level possible.

Some very famous men have or are freemssona (mostly 33rd degree masons) including: Bill Clinton (Senior Demolay; Newt Gingrich, 33rd Degree Freemason; Bob Dole, 33rd Degree Freemason; Jack Kemp, 33rd Degree Freemason; Storm Thurmond; 33rd Degree Freemason, Colin Powell, 33rd Degree Freemason; U.S. Secretary of State; Jesse Helms, 33rd Degree Freemason; Barry Goldwater, 33rd Degree Freemason; W.D. Gann, 33rd Degree Freemason, Famous Stocks & Commodities Trader; Al Gore, Freemason; and many US Presidents including: George Washington, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, James Polk, James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, James Garfield, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, Warren Harding, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George Bush

The Federal Court entered judgment in favor of the defendant, a Costa Rican software company, finding no personal jurisdiction. The District Court held the defendants website, which was passive, but linked to inter-active sites, did not provide the requisite minimum contacts to satisfy personal jurisdiction because the company did not control the target sites.

A recent decision by United States District Court in Missouri clarified an important distinction regarding jurisdictional issues within internet law about intrenet law jurisdictional issues. The Federal Court entered judgment in favor of the defendant, a Costa Rican software company, finding no personal jurisdiction.

The Federal Court decision hinged upon the nature of the software company’s hyperlinks on its website. The District Court held the defendants website, which was passive, but linked to inter-active sites, did not provide the requisite minimum contacts to satisfy personal jurisdiction because the company did not control the target sites.

In the USA, for a court to enter a legally valid judgment against a person, the court must first have personal jurisdiction over that person. An out of state defendant cannot be subject to personal jurisdiction if that defendant has not had a sufficient amount of “minimum contact” with the state where jurisdiction is claimed. A defendant must purposely “reach in,” to that state in order to be sued there legally.

In the context of the internet, the prevailing trend by courts is to rule that jurisdiction is proper when the defendant maintains a website that is interactive in nature, and/or a site which gives users an opportunity to conduct business or otherwise provide input to the website.

This means that a person operating an interactive website opens themselves to jurisdiction in any state from which the website receives visitors. Whereas maintaining a passive website, one which merely displays information for the user to peruse, i.e. a blog, is not sufficient to establish minimum contacts. However, the question in this case turned on what the determination should be when a passive website displays links/advertisements for interactive sites?

The court in this case answered that question by ruling that the third-party target sites were irrelevant to the minimum contacts analysis. Jurisdiction should turn on the company’s purposeful activities, rather than uncertain and immeasurable ties between the company and the third party’s online contacts with the state.

The court stated, “The activity of those hyperlinked websites supports jurisdiction only if defendants maintain some responsibility for or control over the activities and contents of the third-party sites.” While the legal debate surrounding the interactivity test continues, with many detractors arguing it’s web 1.0 specific, this ruling should be encouraging for many website operators, and especially encouraging to Sedo users.

If the district court would have ruled the other way, it would have meant domain name owners who use ppc ads and parking pages could be subject to almost universal personal jurisdiction depending on the interactive nature of the linked web site.

We have just developed a new (small) website regarding Naturopathic Medical School and natural medicine, alternative medicine source regarding natural healing resources and the body’s amazing ability to heal itself.

The philosophical and methodological basis of naturopathy medicine principles are sometimes in somewhat of a conflict with traditional medicine, many traditional doctor’s and medical viewpoints.

For example, many naturopathic practitioners are non-vaccine and non-prescription drug based believers, a result of the natural healing philosophy, which shaped the profession from its beginnings.

".net is the worst extension on the planet. It's an orphan....... I think .org is the number 2 extension (behind .com) in the universe........ and it has its own identity

Just read a really interesting interview with Domain King Rick Schwartz on the Frager Factor blog, in which Rick was very candid and offered great advice. as always. For example, in the interview, Rick said: “.net is the worst extension on the planet. It’s an orphan……. I think .org is the number 2 extension (behind .com) in the universe…….. and it has its own identity.”

We could not agree more with Rick’s remarks about .com (#1 of course by far in most categories) and .org (by far #2 overall), with .org sometimes as good or even better vs .com, at least in a few categories, i.e. health & wellness), with the normally poor choice .net domain name extension far behind.

Fairly recently we have noticed an obvious and strong trend with potential domain hand registrations in a few categories of interest to me that .com and .org domains are almost always already taken. However, the other popular domain name extensions, such as .net .info .biz and .us for example, are often unregistered and available for new registrations.

Dot-com is most always the #1 domain extension (with our personal second choice being dot-org) and there are other extensions including country-codes such as dot-us as alternatives to .com and .org in value and importance. It is important to note how frequently .com and .org are already taken (especially in several important categories).

Assuming the-domain is available for-sale or new registration, a domain which has a .com or .org extension usually will receive far-and-away the most natural and typein traffic and is typically the most valuable as a result of natural traffic going mostly to .org and .com. As an educated guess, we estimate dot-com and dot-org domain names and websites get at least 95% of all typein traffic vs all the other tld’s.

A big reason .com and .org are so valuable is the billions of dollars of marketing and branding money which has gone into the extensions over many years, including vast numbers of ongoing media and TV commercials.

There are also other major reasons dot-com and dot-org are by far the best possible top level domain extensions. For example, when a web-surfer goes online looking for a product, service, business or name they will typically be thinking about dot-com or dot-org as part of the keyword term and type the keyword name plus .com or .org into their internet-browser, but rarely other extensions (exceptions being certain popular country codes, like Germany and its popular dot-de for example).

With that said, search engines do not necessarily play favorites so any extension with a targeted keyword name and a keyword targeted site, with relevant content, incoming links and search optimization done can achieve a high search-engine ranking.

Nevertheless, .org and .com enjoy a huge advantage over the others in that they can easily get natural and typein traffic by virtue of having targeted keyword quality, plus the com/org tld extension and thus do not need to rely almost completely and exclusively on SEO work as the others do.

Any reviews or comments you have about domain names and their extensions would be most appreciated, which feedback we could also add to our site since we are looking for domaining personal feedback to expand the blog. You can visit our Internet Entrepreneur website by clicking-on the domain-king picture below. Thank you.

Try real hard to stop living pay-day to pay-day and sometimes needing short trem loans or credit card cash advances, and especially avoid the incredible high interest rate payday loans

What with the very tough economy and hard times so many are enduring there is a greater need for a family financial expert to help your family finances. Personal financial solutions need to be easily implemented, free and also simple. Falling into debt is something most of us manage to do very well. In fact, we are experts at it, especially in the past when consumer credit and stated income or no-doc mortgage loans were readily available.

The fact is the major credit card companies, mortgage lenders and banks have become real leery of extending credit over the past few years. As a result, your credit bureau report and FICO credit score likely declined. In addition, you may have lost much of your old spending power but don’t despair as that may actually be a blessing in disguise if you can get established on a mostly cash basis and use debit cards more often vs credit cards.

Try real hard to stop living pay-day to pay-day and sometimes needing short term loans or credit card cash advances, and especially avoid the incredible high interest rate payday loans. However, if you fall into that credit trap at least seek out a good family financial expert and advisor, as soon as possible. The advisor may be able to also help-out as far as a mortgage loan modification is concerned, though that’s not easily done. In the meantime, try to avoid drowning under a mountain of bills!

Please pay a visit to Family Financial Expert website for additional information about investing and debts.

women of all ages are looking for good eye serums and in particular for eyebrow serum and other beauty and anti-wrinkle products

Women are very concerned about their eyebrows, eyelashes and facial wrinkles, including crows-feet. As a result women of all ages are looking for good eye serums and in particular for eyebrow serums and other beauty and anti-wrinkle products. Our new eyebrow serum web site can help with these important skin and beauty issues.

A number of women who care a lot about having beautiful skin and a younger overall look seem to neglect the eyebrows and eyelids, instead concentrating attention on skin and face smoothing, dark spots, wrinkles, face contouring, skin sag, sagging face and discolored skin areas seen near sometimes puffy looking eyes.

These women also tend toward using eyelash growth serum, which continuing use can sometimes make women look older vs their real age, instead it’s best if they use quality eye creams based on their most important treatment areas. Eyebrow creams, botanical oils, eye serum, skin lotion and skin gels can also improve the health and appearance of their eye areas, eyebrows and wrinkles.

most significant factor for skin damage and easy bruising is sun exposure (with aspirin and blood thinners also being major contributing factors). This can be seen by comparing areas of your body that have regular sun exposure with areas that are protected from sunlight

Skin changes and bruising are among the most visible signs of aging. Other evidence of increasing age includes face sagging skin and unwanted (especially by women) easily noticeable dark skin spots and facial wrinkles. Skin changes over the years are closely related to genetics, environment, nutrition and other factors.

The most significant factor for skin damage and easy bruising is sun exposure (with aspirin and blood thinners also being major contributing factors). This can be seen by comparing areas of your body that have regular sun exposure with areas that are protected from sunlight. Natural pigments provide some protection against sun-caused skin damage, with blue-eyed, blond or red headed, and fair-skinned people show more skin changes and skin damage vs people with darker, more heavily pigmented skin.

Changes in the skin tissues reduce the skin’s strength and skin elasticity, which is much more obvious in a body’s sun exposed areas. Skin elastosis causes leathery, weather-beaten skin appearance common to construction workers, farmers, sailors, and others who spend lots of time outdoors.

Blood vessels near the skins surface may become fragile, which leads to skin bruising, which is basically a result of bleeding under the skin. Glands make less oil as you age. Men experience a comparative minor decrease in oil and mostly after age 80. However, women gradually produce less oil beginning at a much younger age, usually by their late 40′s or early 50s). Reduced natural oils can make it harder to keep the skin moist, resulting in dry skin and itchiness.
